Pregnancy is beautiful, whether planned or unplanned. Sometimes the unplanned causes us to face some big decisions.
If you are unable to parent, no matter the reason, we want you to know that you are not alone. We are always here to help you decide what is best for you and your child. If you have recently become pregnant and need assistance in deciding whether adoption is right for you and your baby, give us a call!
A legally recognized, lifelong relationship between an adoptee (child being adopted) and their adoptive parents, where the adoptive parents assume all legal rights and responsibilities of a child as if they were biologically theirs.
Adoption is a way for you to give your child a chance at a life of opportunity, resources, and unlimited love, from both you and the adoptive family. There are many families who are so joyfully willing to accept a child into their home. Our office is focused on supporting expectant mothers through every step of the adoption process and connecting you with the best fit of an adoptive family for your child.
We want you to select the adoptive family! We encourage you to meet the family and get to know them before birth, which we can arrange. You will be involved every step of the way.
We are happy to work with you regardless of your Birth Father situation, addiction struggles, health conditions, etc. We never judge.
Our LCSW is here to support you throughout your pregnancy and for your lifetime. We have free counseling and case management services. We are here to encourage your life betterment, pre-and-post adoption!
As allowed by Florida law, we provide financial assistance to cover living expenses. This includes rent, utilities, medical bills, gas mileage, clothing, and food. We also provide transportation to and from doctors appointments and counseling sessions.
Our Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kathleen, provides free case management, counseling, and therapy sessions every other week or as needed to ensure that you are fully supported throughout your pregnancy and lifetime. This counseling can continue beyond your time being pregnant and is highly encouraged.
We work with adoptive agencies from all over Florida and the U.S. All of our families are home study approved and prepared to welcome a child into their home! We will help you find the perfect family for your child.
Once the baby is born, we will handle the finalization of the adoption process, including terminating parental rights. We want you to focus on you and your child; we can handle the rest!
We send expectant mothers for an ultrasound for proof of pregnancy. This helps determine how far along you are and what you and the baby's needs may be.
After your ultrasound, we will set up a time for you to come in and meet with us. We will discuss what adoption is and help you decide whether adoption is right for you. If you are ready to begin the process, we will start with the beginning paperwork.
If you need transportation to and from your consultation (and future meetings), our driver is available to you free of charge!
Based on your financial need, we will develop a budget for you. We understand that you may be struggling. We can provide financial assistance with your living and medical expenses, as allowed by Florida law. This can include rent, utilities, clothing, and food. Additionally, we can aid with transportation, cell phone service, case management and counseling.
We are here to support you in all aspects of your life. We hold counseling sessions every other Friday with our LCSW, Kathleen, and support groups every few months. We also have free case management services to help you achieve self-sufficiency post-pregnancy and beyond!
We will help you find the perfect fit for your child! All of our families are home study approved and ready to welcome a child into their lives. We want you to make the decision of who you place your child with. Once you select a family, we will arrange a "match lunch," where you will get a chance to meet the family and really get to know them, if you are comfortable.
We encourage open adoptions, as they have been proven beneficial for all parts of the adoption triad. However, we fully support your decision to a semi-open or closed adoption.
You can choose which hospital you would like to deliver at. We will help you make decisions regarding involvement of the adoptive parents during delivery. We want you to be as comfortable as possible.
After birth, we will handle all of the legal steps to finalize the adoption.
If you don't see your question below, please call or text us at 904-655-0999!
We will always make sure to check in with you regarding your adoption plan. We want to be sure you are confident and aware of your decision, no matter what decision it is. You are able to change your mind about the adoption plan at any point up until you sign your consent to the adoption. The consent is signed at least 48 hours after the birth or when you are discharged from the hospital, which ever happens sooner.
If you are unmarried and the child was conceived while you were unmarried, the birth father will need to sign the Affidavit of Nonpaternity, which is his version of the Consent to the adoption.
If you are married and the child was conceived while you were married, the birth father will need to sign the Consent to the adoption.
If the birth father is unknown, that is ok. We will conduct a search of the Putative Father Registry to ensure no man has filed a claim of paternity on the baby.
If a birth father chooses to contest, or fight the adoption, he will have a series of necessary steps to take within a 30-day period of time in order to contest. If he is unable to do so within the 30 days, his consent to the adoption is no longer required.
Yes! We will provide you with profile books of adoptive families who have expressed interest in your situation. We are here to fully support you as you narrow down choices and find a forever family for your child.
